Mayor Carolina Mejía provides 150 free niches for nightclub tragedy victims

Santo Domingo.- In response to the tragic collapse at the Jet Set nightclub, Mayor Carolina Mejía of the National District has made 150 burial niches available at the Cristo Redentor Cemetery for the victims’ families. The initiative aims to ensure a dignified resting place for those who lost their lives in the disaster.

The General Secretariat of the City Council announced that the niches will be provided at no cost. Families seeking assistance can visit the Cristo Redentor Cemetery and speak with Pamela Martínez and her team, who are dedicated to guiding them through the process.

This gesture comes as the death toll from the incident continues to rise. According to the latest report from COE director Juan Manuel Méndez García, the number of confirmed deaths, verified by INACIF, has reached 184.
