“La bachata de Biónico” dominates Made in DR Fine Arts Film Festival Awards

Santo Domingo.- The latest edition of the Made in DR Fine Arts Film Festival concluded with La bachata de Biónico emerging as the big winner. The film took home five major awards: Best Film, Best Actor for Manuel Raposo, Best Supporting Actor for Dionis Taveras, Best Supporting Actress for Ana Minier, and Best Screenplay for Yoel Morales and Cristian Mojica.
Judith Rodríguez won Best Actress for her role in Libélula, while Pepe earned Nelson Carlo de los Santos Arias the Best Director award. Best Documentary was awarded to Kacimiro, directed by Boynayel Mota.
In the short film category, Desde su dressing room by Roxanna Javier and Sauris Mota, students at PUCMM, won Best Short Film. An honorable mention was given to Camino de vuelta by Alexander Vásquez from the Chavón School of Design. The newly introduced Audience Award went to Wilfredo, directed by José R. Soto Jiménez.
The festival’s official jury, led by José D’Laura and composed of film experts Félix Manuel Lora, Jeury Frías, Katherine Montés, and Ysidro García, evaluated the participating films and shorts showcased by Caribbean Cinemas.
