Dominican students win Global Leadership Championship in London

London.- A team of students from Saint Joseph School has made history by winning first place at the 2025 Global Leadership Championship (GLC) in London—the first time a Dominican delegation has participated in the competition. In addition to the top overall award, the team also earned recognition for Best Debate Resolution and Best Individual Speaker, showcasing their talent across various disciplines.
The GLC is a prestigious international academic competition that evaluates participants on leadership, innovation, critical thinking, and global awareness. Competing against teams from eight countries—including Brazil, Spain, Mexico, and the UK—the Dominican students impressed judges with projects like a socially conscious business pitch at the iconic Gherkin Tower, a contemporary adaptation of Romeo and Juliet addressing global issues, and an immersive metaverse gallery reflecting Dominican culture.
The team also excelled in a Model UN-style debate on artificial intelligence and global development, and captivated audiences during International Night with a merengue performance honoring Juan Luis Guerra. Dressed in traditional attire and offering Dominican sweets and crafts, they delivered a memorable cultural showcase. Their trip also included educational visits to sites like Bath, Winchester, and London’s Natural History Museum.
Congratulations! Well done.
Good for them! Bravo! They all should be proud of this accomplishment.
