Mayor of Las Terrenas urges vigilance amid heavy rainfall

Las Terrenas.- Due to heavy rainfall caused by a weather trough currently affecting the region, Las Terrenas has been placed under a yellow alert. Mayor Eduardo Esteban is urging residents to stay alert and take all necessary precautions to protect their lives and property. He emphasized the importance of avoiding unnecessary travel and asked those living near rivers, ravines, or streams to relocate to safer areas.
As part of the town’s emergency response, shelters have been prepared to assist those at risk from flooding or other hazards. The Municipal Prevention, Mitigation, and Response (PMR) Committee remains on high alert and is closely monitoring the situation to act swiftly if needed.
Mayor Esteban called for unity and cooperation from the community, encouraging residents to follow guidance from emergency agencies. He reaffirmed the municipality’s commitment to safeguarding citizens and reminded them to use official emergency numbers if they require immediate assistance.
