Easter 2025: use of beaches and water sports prohibited in these provinces

The Emergency Operations Center (COE) prohibited the use of beaches and water sports from Cabo Francés Viejo, in María Trinidad Sánchez, to Cabo del Moro, in Monte Cristi, this Holy Saturday due to the danger posed by the strong waves on the Atlantic coast.

The entity explained that this measure responds to the meteorological bulletin of the Dominican Institute of Meteorology (INDOMET), which warns of a progressive deterioration of the waves due to strong winds. This condition could extend between 24 to 48 hours.

In this sense, the entity recommends that operators of fragile, small and medium-sized vessels remain in port on that stretch of the Atlantic coast, because the waves are hazardous.

The Caribbean coast, specifically south of Pedernales, should be sailed with caution and not moved away from the sea, also due to the effects of wind and abnormal waves. The rest of the coasts will remain operable, although with surveillance.
