President Abinader mourns passing of Pope Francis

Santo Domingo.- President Luis Abinader expressed deep sorrow over the death of Pope Francis, calling his memory everlasting. In a heartfelt message shared on social media, Abinader extended condolences on behalf of the Dominican people and his family, honoring the Pope’s legacy of peace, human rights, and service to the vulnerable.

The president also recalled his personal meeting with the Pope at the Vatican in May 2024 and joined global prayers in remembrance of the pontiff’s leadership and compassion.
