During the tour, the authorities confirmed that total control of the area remains, where illegal buildings of up to three stories had previously been demolished.

Reinforcement of surveillance

The absence of people in an irregular migratory situation was verified, and the reinforcement of surveillance through the permanent presence of soldiers from the Dominican Republic Army, specialized units of the Armed Forces, and agents of the National Police was highlighted.

These actions are part of a national strategy to preserve territorial order, protect vulnerable areas from new illegal occupations, and ensure compliance with international human rights protocols in immigration control processes.

Recent results of the operation

The most recent operation carried out on Tuesday, April 22, resulted in the arrest of more than 500 foreigners in an irregular migratory situation, most of them Haitian nationals. Those arrested were transferred to the Haina Detention Center, where due process of verification and repatriation is carried out in accordance with the provisions of General Migration Law No. 285-04.

Commitment to security and order

Minister Raful stated: “We will continue to strengthen our response capacity in compliance with the immigration measures ordered by President Luis Abinader.”

The authorities reiterated their commitment to maintaining active surveillance in the area and strengthening measures to prevent new invasions, emphasizing respect for human dignity and the principles of international law in all phases of the operations.

They also emphasized that these efforts are part of the Comprehensive Citizen Security Plan 2025, which the Dominican government recently launched to ensure citizen security, social stability, and respect for the rule of law.
