Authorities supervise control operations in Matamosquito

Friusa.- Government authorities conducted an operation in the Matamosquito sector of Bávaro, La Altagracia province, to oversee immigration enforcement and the demolition of illegal structures on unlawfully occupied land. The inspection was led by Interior and Police Minister Faride Raful, Defense Minister Carlos Antonio Fernández Onofre, Immigration Director Luis Rafael Lee Ballester, and National Police Director Ramón Antonio Guzmán Peralta.
Officials confirmed that the area is fully controlled, with no irregular migrants present. Several unauthorized multi-level buildings had already been demolished. In a recent sweep on April 22, over 500 undocumented foreigners, mostly Haitians, were detained and transferred to the Haina Detention Center under due process as per Immigration Law No. 285-04.
