Casa Brugal earns Bonsucro certification

Santo Domingo.- Casa Brugal has earned the prestigious Bonsucro certification, confirming that at least 50% of the molasses used in its rum production comes from certified sustainable sources. The Dominican rum producer announced the achievement in a press release, highlighting its commitment to traceability and environmental responsibility.

Company president Augusto Ramírez Bonó emphasized that excellence at Casa Brugal goes beyond the quality of its rum. “This certification reflects our dedication to sustainability and responsible production practices that respect both people and the environment,” he stated.

Bonsucro is a UK-based non-profit organization and a global leader in sugarcane sustainability. Its certification ensures environmentally responsible production, fair labor practices, and efficient resource use. Bonsucro, a UK based organization has about 50 member countries. A certification from it says the recipient meets social, commercial, and environmental sustainability standards in its practices.
