COE replaces red alert with yellow in 4 provinces: Is the worst over?

The Emergency Operations Center (COE) replaced the red alerts that weighed on Santo Domingo, the National District, Monsignor Nouel and San Cristóbal with yellow alerts this Saturday.
Currently, 13 provinces and the National District remain on yellow alert, while another eight are on green. Although the trough begins to move away, scattered downpours, moderate to heavy at times, are expected, especially after noon.
The provinces on yellow alert are Montecristi, Valverde, Santiago, La Vega, Monseñor Nouel, San José de Ocoa, Monte Plata, Sánchez Ramírez, Duarte, María Trinidad Sánchez, Hato Mayor, Santo Domingo, the National District, and San Cristóbal.
The following remain on green alert: Elías Piña, San Juan, Samaná, El Seibo, La Altagracia, La Romana, San Pedro de Macorís and Peravia.
The COE recommended that the population refrain from crossing rivers, streams, and ravines with a high volume of water in the provinces under alert. In addition, he urged residents in the Yaque del Norte River basin, from its source to its mouth in Montecristi, not to cross it or use it for recreational or sports activities due to the regulation operation in the Tavera-Bao-López-Angostura dams.
