Cemí Ron Dominicano debuts with Taíno-inspired design

Cemí Ron Dominicano has entered the market as a tribute to pre-Columbian art and the island’s original inhabitants, the Taínos. Presented in a distinctive, sculptural bottle inspired by the traditional Taíno concept of the “cemí”—a spiritual figure central to their culture—the product merges heritage with craftsmanship. The 700 ml bottle is designed to serve both as a premium rum container and a decorative art piece.

The packaging was created by Esequiel Taveras, a multidisciplinary artist from the Dominican diaspora in New York, and Dominican-Cuban visual artist Ángel Urrely, based in Santo Domingo. Their work is part of the Cemí Art Project, an initiative aimed at promoting Dominican art and culture through creative and socially resonant expressions.

Cemí Ron Dominicano Reserva Especial is crafted using traditional aging processes, where the rum gains flavor, color, and complexity from the wood barrels. It is carefully filtered for clarity and adheres to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) standards, ensuring high quality from production to distribution.
