Dominican Republic looks to Israel for advanced border surveillance solutions

Journalist Ezequiel Abiú, reporting from northern Israel, described the Israel-Lebanon border wall as not only a concrete physical barrier but also a high-tech surveillance system that enhances border security.

In light of ongoing migration challenges along the Dominican Republic’s border with Haiti, Abiú reported that the Dominican Ministry of Defense has contacted Israeli authorities. The goal is to explore potential collaboration and adopt similar advanced surveillance technologies to strengthen control at the Dominican-Haitian border, according to Noticias SIN.

After the 7th October attack, looking to Israel for border surveillance isn’t a good idea unless Santo Domingo will do to Haiti just like what Jerusalem is doing to Gaza right now.

Haitian gangs aren’t Hamas or Hezbollah, also the Israel wall works pretty well in general, just because it failed once doesn’t mean it hasn’t been successful. If you look at the report other things failed that day.

Dominican Military is inept and doesn’t have the logistics nor strategy to ever pull something like that off. Plus the Dominican Republic lacks modern navy and air force for any sort of bombing support. Majority of Dominican air force is old Vietnam era helicopters and a bunch of trainer planes. The hatian gangs would run miles against Dominican forces since Haitians know there own territory and armed groups don’t abide by war doctrine.

it would be interesting to see if the ha itian gangs would run miles around Dominican troops. Put it to the test. tell them to go shoot Soldiers at the border and lets see this run around they are going to get.
