Abinader to meet Macron and Lula during diplomatic tour
Santo Domingo.- President Luis Abinader is set to meet separately with French President Emmanuel Macron and Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva during a diplomatic tour of Europe and South America. His itinerary begins in Nice, France, where he will attend the Third United Nations Conference on the Ocean from June 8 to 10. The meeting with Macron is scheduled for Monday at the Palais des Rois Sardes.
Following the conference, Abinader will travel to Geneva, Switzerland, where he will become the first Dominican president to be invited by the International Labor Organization (ILO). He will speak at the High-Level Meeting of the Global Coalition for Social Justice at the Palais des Nations and receive recognition from Dominican and international labor union leaders for his work in improving wages and promoting social justice in the Dominican Republic.
The final leg of his trip takes him to Brasília, Brazil, where he will participate in the Brazil-Caribbean Summit on June 13 and 14, at the invitation of President Lula da Silva. Abinader is expected to return to the Dominican Republic on June 15.

El Presidente travels a lot, substantially. Great! His overseas presence brings with him the facility to show the good attributes of the Dominican Republic. If he did not travel, he would be internationally out of sight…, the RD would be out of sight, and out of mind. His being visible builds relationships, connections, and enhances revenue possibilities.
The RD’s location at the crossroads of trade routes can make it a prime hub for international commerce.
