Utility poles collapse on Puente de la 17, causing major traffic disruption

Santo Domingo.- Several utility poles collapsed on Monday morning on the Francisco del Rosario Sánchez Bridge, commonly known as the Puente de la 17, which connects the municipality of Santo Domingo Este with the National District.

The incident was captured in videos circulating on social media, showing severe traffic chaos along the entire roadway.

According to Hoy Digital, a reliable source informed reporters that technicians from the Eastern Electricity Distribution Company (EDEESTE) will carry out an assessment to determine and disclose the causes of the collapse.

So far, it remains unknown whether the incident on the Puente de la 17 has resulted in any injuries.
