Aerodom achieves third consecutive ACA Level 3 Certification for carbon reduction efforts
Santo Domingo.- Aeropuertos Dominicanos Siglo XXI (Aerodom), which operates six state-owned airports in the Dominican Republic as part of the VINCI Airports network, has been recertified at Level 3 (Optimization) of the Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) program by Airports Council International (ACI) for the third year in a row. This recognition highlights Aerodom’s ongoing efforts to cut carbon emissions and promote decarbonization in partnership with industry stakeholders.
The certification covers all Aerodom-managed airports: Las Américas and La Isabela (Santo Domingo), Gregorio Luperón (Puerto Plata), María Montez (Barahona), and Presidente Juan Bosch and Arroyo Barril (Samaná), positioning Aerodom as a regional leader in sustainable airport operations. ACA Level 3 acknowledges not only the reduction of direct emissions but also collaboration with third parties to reduce their environmental impact. Results are independently verified and audited according to ISO 14064 standards.
CEO Mónika Infante Henríquez noted that the carbon footprint reductions were achieved without relying on offsetting mechanisms, thanks to strategic investments in energy efficiency and renewable energy, including the installation of 8.8 MW of solar photovoltaic systems—making Aerodom the country’s largest private solar energy producer.
This milestone aligns with VINCI Airports’ broader goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, with a 66% reduction target by 2030. Aerodom’s progress, from ACA Level 1 in 2018 to Level 3 today, underscores its commitment to environmental leadership in the face of increasing air traffic.

How about the carbon imprint used to manufacture those solar panels and transport them .
