Edesur will build an electrical substation to improve the grid

Santo Domingo.- Edesur reported that four new power transformers have arrived in the country for the Construction Project of the New Operations Center Substation and the expansion of the Metropolitan substation, located in the National District.

The transformers were unloaded from the Port of Sans Souci, where customs procedures for transport, installation, and commissioning were completed.

The 50 MVA transformers, totaling 200 MVA of installed capacity, are part of the system upgrade process being carried out by Edesur in its concession area.

Two of the units will be installed as part of the Metropolitan substation expansion to ensure greater reliability and stability, benefiting the Naco, Kennedy, La Fe, El Vergel, Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center, La Yuca (Naco), and La Esperilla sectors, among others.

Two of the transformers will be located at the new Operations Center substation to supply power to customers of the Santo Domingo Residential Complex, Herrera Industrial Zone, AESA Urbanization, Honduras North, Caribbean Coast, Buenos Aires de la Independencia, Kilometer 12 of Haina, El Café, Costa Verde Residential Complex, Manresa, Quita Sueños, Los Platanitos, and Mirador del Oeste, located in the National District and Santo Domingo West.

When is the country going to import and use commercial battery systems for energy storage and load shifting to improve grid stability?
