“RD Se Mueve” launches traffic reforms with left-turn restrictions

Santo Domingo.- As part of Phase 1 of the new mobility strategy “RD Se Mueve,” the Transportation Cabinet announced that beginning Sunday, July 6, left turns will be restricted at three key intersections along Lope de Vega Avenue in the National District. The affected intersections are: Lope de Vega with Padre Fantino Falco, Gustavo Mejía Ricart, and Max Henríquez Ureña streets.
To ensure smooth traffic flow, alternative routes have been established, properly signposted, and integrated into platforms like Google Maps and Waze. These detours include routes via Siervas de María and Agustín Lara streets, allowing drivers to reach their destinations from alternate directions.
This measure—coordinated with INTRANT, DIGESETT, and the Ministry of Public Works (MOPC)—aims to improve road safety, reduce congestion, and optimize travel times in high-traffic zones. Authorities will provide technical and operational support during implementation, along with a public awareness campaign at the affected intersections. The initiative is part of a broader plan to revamp 18 intersections in its first phase, followed by 20 more in the second, all aimed at transforming urban mobility in the capital.
