Magín Díaz appointed as new Minister of Finance in the Dominican Republic
Santo Domingo.- President Luis Abinader has appointed economist and academic Magín Javier Díaz as the new Minister of Finance, following the resignation of José Manuel (Jochy) Vicente. The decision was made official through Decree 386-25.
Díaz brings over 20 years of experience in public policy, having served in key fiscal roles under multiple administrations. His past positions include Undersecretary of Finance during Hipólito Mejía’s presidency, Deputy Minister of Fiscal Policy and Public Credit, and Director General of Internal Revenue from 2016 to 2020. He has played a central role in tax reforms and negotiations with multilateral organizations.
