U.S. identifies export opportunities in Dominican agriculture
Santo Domingo.- The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has reaffirmed its commitment to deepening agricultural cooperation and trade with the Dominican Republic during an official visit led by Michelle Bekkering, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Trade and Foreign Affairs. The visit, part of a USDA trade mission from July 13 to 17, included a key meeting with Dominican Agriculture Minister Limber Cruz in Santo Domingo.
Discussions centered on identifying areas for technical collaboration and expanding agricultural trade. Bekkering highlighted the Dominican Republic’s ability to meet U.S. quality standards, reinforcing the potential for increased exports. Minister Cruz welcomed the initiative, describing it as a strategic opportunity for more Dominican producers to access international markets.
