Santo Domingo.- On Friday, July 18, journalist Sarah Hernández was elected president of the Asociación Dominicana de Prensa Turística (Adompretur) for the 2025–2027 term, following votes cast in the National District and 13 regional chapters. “Together we will continue to strengthen this guild that has contributed so much to Dominican tourism journalism,” Hernández said upon her victory.
Preliminary results were announced by Miguelina Santos, chair of the National Electoral Commission, and her alternate, Margarita Brito, who oversaw the process alongside notaries David La Hoz and Enelia Santos de los Santos. Hernández secured 85 votes in the National District, 41 in Bávaro‑Punta Cana, 36 in Puerto Plata, 22 in Higüey and 18 in Sosúa. Although these figures remain provisional, they indicate clear support for her leadership.
