Dominican fugitive “Yefri” extradited to face NY quadruple homicide charges
Santo Domingo.- Luis Francisco Soriano—known as “Yefri” or “Yeyo”—arrived in the United States this Friday after being extradited from the Dominican Republic to face charges in connection with a brutal crime near Rochester, New York, on August 31, 2024. Soriano, 32, is accused of murdering four people—including two children aged 2 and 4—following their kidnapping and the setting of a premeditated fire.
U.S. authorities have indicted Soriano on multiple counts: first‑ and second‑degree murder, first‑degree kidnapping, first‑degree burglary and both first‑ and second‑degree arson. His name had appeared on the U.S. Marshals Service’s list of the ten most wanted fugitives due to the severity of the alleged offenses.
Soriano was apprehended in June near Arena Gorda Beach, La Altagracia Province, after an intensive manhunt. His handover at Las Américas International Airport was coordinated by the Dominican Procuraduría General de la República and the Dirección Nacional de Control de Drogas, with support from the U.S. Marshals, under Presidential Decree 354-25.
Officials on both sides hailed the extradition as a testament to strengthened Dominican‑American cooperation in combating transnational crime. Soriano is now held in custody in New York, where he awaits arraignment on the full slate of charges.
