Dominican Consulate in Miami launches MIA Chatbot

Miami, Florida.- The Consulate General of the Dominican Republic in Miami has introduced MIA, a new 24/7 WhatsApp chatbot designed to streamline access to consular information and improve service for both Dominican nationals and foreign users. The initiative is part of the consulate’s broader modernization and service improvement strategy.

MIA provides instant, user-friendly guidance on common procedures, including passport renewals, apostilles, consular cards, powers of attorney, and travel authorizations for minors. The chatbot was created to reduce phone line congestion, shorten wait times, and offer immediate support for frequently requested services. Earlier this year, the consulate also established a specialized call center to better address individual inquiries.
