TNR and DGDC sign agreement to modernize agriculture in vulnerable areas

Santo Domingo.- The National Irrigation Technology Directorate (TNR) and the General Directorate of Community Development (DGDC) signed a collaboration agreement on Wednesday to modernize agriculture through efficient water use and boost rural productivity. The ceremony took place in the Gilberto Reynoso Hall, with TNR director Claudio Caamaño Vélez and DGDC head Carlos Modesto Guzmán leading the event.

Under the agreement, the agencies will identify local needs, implement projects, provide technical assistance, and transfer knowledge and technology. TNR will offer workshops and training on irrigation best practices, while DGDC will coordinate logistics, community engagement, and project execution. The partnership reaffirms both institutions’ commitment to rural development, sustainability, and modern, resilient agriculture.
