Dominican students excel in Microsoft Office Specialist World Competition
Regional 15 of the Ministry of Education (MINERD) celebrated the success of two outstanding students in the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) 2025 World Competition, held in Orlando, Florida. Santiago Gabriel Higuera Rodríguez earned third place globally in the PowerPoint 365 category, showcasing his advanced skills in the program. His classmate, Amelia González Morrobel, secured first place locally in the Word 365 category, earning the opportunity to represent the Dominican Republic at the event.
The competition brought together over 190 finalists from 69 countries, testing practical skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint among participants aged 13 to 22.
The accomplishment was made possible through the guidance and support of the Marillac Polytechnic team, led by director Julia Pérez Carrasco and technology teacher Ángel Arnaldo Rodríguez. MINERD Regional 15 extended its congratulations and gratitude to all involved, including President Luis Abinader and Education Minister Luis Miguel De Camps, for their commitment to quality education.
