Dominican Republic accused of alleged racist practices

Santo Domingo.- Darío Solano, coordinator of the Forum and the Afros Network, accused the Dominican Republic on Friday of perpetuating alleged racist practices across its social structures and urged the government to implement public policies to address the issue.

“Racism exists in the Dominican Republic, as in other Latin American and Caribbean countries, but it is often unacknowledged, which hinders efforts to embrace the nation’s ethnic and cultural diversity,” Solano said. He emphasized that discriminatory practices are present throughout society and called on the State to recognize the problem and define concrete strategies to combat it.

Solano’s remarks were made during a meeting in Santo Domingo organized by the International Coalition of Territories and Peoples of African Descent in Latin America and the Caribbean (CITAFRO), which brings together Afro-descendant leaders from the region. The coalition called for urgent measures against racism, discrimination, and xenophobia, expressed solidarity with Haiti, and outlined plans for COP30 in Belém do Pará, Brazil. Proposals include training programs on climate change and biodiversity, access to environmental financing, green jobs, and community mitigation efforts, with active participation from youth, women, and rural Afro-descendant communities. The coalition stressed the importance of free, prior, and informed consultation, and equitable access to the benefits of natural resources for Afro-descendant peoples.

‘Haitians can never fix Haiti’ – African professor Franck Zanu. For that reason the globalists (UN), have decided to move all the Haitians to the Dominican side using the violence crisis and the false racism narrative. As we speak, 150,000 Dominican children are left out of their school system because the UN have the school full of undocumented Haitians children. DominicanToday is part of the negative propaganda against DR.

Haitian problem in DR is more the immigration, in fact, is a displacement and substitution of the Dominican population. A migrant population that represents 1 percent of the population, let’s say, or less, is not the same as one that represents 30%. A productive, peaceful migrant population, obedient to the rules, customs, and laws of the country. It aspires and desires to be financially independent, to contribute to the development of the host country, and to assimilate into the adoptive society. This is not the same as a massive occupation that represents 30% or more of the population. Due to their culture and background, they lack the capacity to become self-sufficient. They have no desire to integrate into the host society, but rather to be recognized and subsidized by the host society as a parallel country. With a distinct religion that dictates distinct attitudes and behaviors. They don’t recognize local institutions or norms, and they don’t feel obligated to respect the laws of the state. It’s not the same. An invading population that reproduces rapidly, with no sense of sustaining or maintaining its standard of living. A group comprising 30% of the population has the influence to sway political decisions toward its own ends and interests, which are distinct from those of the remaining 70% of the population, who are nationals by origin.

This is total nonsense. If there were widespread racial discrimination in the DR I would likely know it. With literally no exception so far I have found the people of the Dominican to be welcoming, warm and friendly. Of course, respect is met with respect. This African professor is just trying to create an issue where none exists. The issue is the influx of UN supported illegals from Haiti draining the economy in the DR, overwhelming the medical system and flooding the public schools with children with no legal right to be there. Fix that!
