President Abinader implements changes to Dominican Navy

Santo Domingo.- President Luis Abinader enacted Decree 516-25, introducing key changes to the leadership of the Dominican Republic Navy.

The measure promoted Rear Admiral Juan Bienvenido Crisóstomo Martínez to vice admiral and appointed him as the new general commander of the Navy. Rear Admiral Anthony Manuel Tadeo Jiminián Objío was named deputy commander general, while Rear Admiral Juan Gilberto Núñez Abreu took over as inspector general.

Additionally, Vice Admiral Agustín Alberto Morillo Rodríguez was designated Vice Minister for Naval and Coastal Affairs, replacing Vice Admiral Ramón Gustavo Betances Hernández, who retired honorably and will now serve as Special Advisor to the President. The restructuring aims to reinforce the Navy’s leadership and guarantee operational continuity and efficiency.

Wondering if replaced officers were promoted or offered new government tasks increasing their salaries, salaries that offer increased benefits to them when they retire for good? It always seems government leadership always provides an extra carrot for removed officials to keep them in good grace.
