Dominican Consulate strengthens community ties in Mérida and Cancún
Mexico.- The Consulate General of the Dominican Republic in Mexico, led by Consul General Juan Roberto Rodríguez Hernández, carried out an extensive agenda in Cancún and Mérida to strengthen ties with the Dominican community.
In Cancún, the delegation met with students at Anáhuac University to discuss academic and cultural cooperation opportunities between both nations. They later traveled on the Maya Train to Mérida to learn about the project’s impact on connectivity, tourism, and sustainable development.
For the first time, the consulate brought its services directly to the Dominican community in Mérida, allowing dozens of residents to complete procedures without traveling to Mexico City. Consul Rodríguez Hernández, supported by Ambassador Juan Bolívar Díaz, highlighted that these initiatives mark a milestone in reinforcing the Dominican Republic’s institutional presence in Mexico by combining academic exchange, community support, and engagement with regional development projects.
