Santo Domingo to host regional summit on AI ethics in October 2025

Santo Domingo.- Santo Domingo will host the Third Ministerial and High-Level Summit on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence in Latin America and the Caribbean on October 2 and 3, 2025. The meeting will bring together ministers, experts, representatives of the private sector, civil society, and multilateral organizations to discuss ethical AI governance.

The event, organized by the Government Office of Information and Communication Technologies (OGTIC) in partnership with CAF—Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean—and UNESCO, seeks to strengthen regional cooperation and promote public policies aligned with the UNESCO Recommendation on the Ethics of AI. It builds on the second edition held in Uruguay in 2024 and positions itself as the region’s leading forum on responsible and rights-based artificial intelligence. The summit will be held in person in Santo Domingo, with live online broadcasting to ensure broad participation.
