Dominican Republic and Azerbaijan remove diplomatic visa requirements
New York.- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MIREX) announced that Foreign Minister Roberto Álvarez and his Azerbaijani counterpart, Jeyhun Bayramov, signed an agreement to eliminate visa requirements for holders of diplomatic, official, and special passports. The initiative aims to strengthen diplomatic relations and facilitate bilateral exchanges.
During the meeting, both ministers discussed trade opportunities in the energy sector and other areas of common interest. Foreign Minister Álvarez was accompanied by Deputy Minister of Multilateral Foreign Policy Rubén Silié, Dominican Ambassador to the UN Wellington Bencosme, and Anselmo Muñiz, Director of Strategic Studies and Analysis.
The agreement forms part of the Dominican government’s broader strategy to expand its diplomatic presence and foster international cooperation in key sectors.
