Dominican Republic participates in ICAO Assembly
Canada.- The Dominican Republic is taking part in the 42nd Session of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Assembly, held from September 23 to October 3 in Montreal, Canada. The delegation, appointed by President Luis Abinader through Executive Order 339-25, is led by Héctor Porcella, president of the Civil Aviation Board (JAC).
The team will present around twenty study notes addressing major issues in global and regional aviation, such as air transport liberalization, passenger rights, operational safety, drone management, environmental sustainability, and professional training. The Dominican Republic will also engage in the ICAO Council electoral process while reinforcing its regional leadership through its role in the Latin American Civil Aviation Commission (CLAC).
During the plenary session, Porcella will deliver the official declaration of the Dominican State, outlining achievements in air connectivity, passenger growth, bilateral agreements, aviation policy modernization, safety, and environmental commitments.
