The Santo Domingo Metro resumes operations at the Pedro Francisco Bonó station after an incident.
Santo Domingo — The Office for Transportation Reorganization (OPRET) reported that at 8:25 p.m. this Saturday, commercial service was restored at the Pedro Francisco Bonó station on Line 2 of the Santo Domingo Metro, following the accident that occurred Friday night.
According to OPRET, the affected access point was completely demolished in less than 24 hours, ensuring the safety of users and allowing trains to operate normally.
OPRET thanked users for their understanding and reiterated its commitment to efficiency and safety, consistently placing citizens at the center of its actions.
What Caribe Tours said about the incident
Caribe Tours issued an official statement following the accident that occurred Friday night at the Pedro Francisco Bonó station of the Santo Domingo Metro, located at the intersection of Núñez de Cáceres and John F. Kennedy avenues.
According to the report, a speeding jeep running a red light collided with a Caribe Tours vehicle, causing the driver to lose control and crash into the station’s access structure.
As a result, an employee of the Office for the Reorganization of Transportation (Opret) was injured and taken to a medical center, where she is in stable condition.
