Paso Rápido users no longer need to share TAG number
Santo Domingo.- The general director of the RD Vial Trust, Hostos Rizik Lugo, announced that beginning this Tuesday, users will no longer need to provide their Paso Rápido TAG number, as manual entry in the toll system has been completely eliminated.
Rizik Lugo explained on his X account that new backup RFID readers have been installed. These devices automatically validate a user’s passage even if the TAG is not detected in the exclusive lanes. “We continue to modernize the country’s road network,” he said.
The updated system strengthens user protection, helps prevent fraud, and improves the accuracy of toll collection by ensuring that each transaction is directly tied to the account holder. RD Vial is urging all drivers to update the Paso Rápido app to its latest version and verify that their email address is correctly registered and accessible.
