4.4 magnitude earthquake strikes near Las Terrenas

Samaná.- A 4.4 magnitude earthquake was registered at 9:12 p.m. on Wednesday night in the Atlantic Ocean, north-northwest of Las Terrenas, according to the National Seismology Center at the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD).

The tremor’s epicenter was located approximately 19.6 kilometers from the popular tourist destination in Samaná province. At this time, no reports of injuries or property damage have been issued.
