Santo Domingo.- Plan International Dominican  Republic (Plan RD), an organization for children’s rights and the equality of girls, on Friday introduced Virginia Saiz as its new country director.

Virginia Saiz has been working in the development sector for over 15 years. She joined Plan in 2005, starting her career in the Dominican Republic as National Advisor for Community and Youth Participation, and then as Manager of Local Development Strategies. Then in 2009 she moved to Egypt to head the post of Grants, Sponsorship and Communications Manager. Since 2014, she has worked as Program Support Manager in Uganda.

During a meeting with members, associates and media, the new director of Plan RD said: “With this suitcase loaded with good learning I assume the direction of Plan in the Dominican Republic. It’s an extremely interesting moment for Plan at a global level. The ambition is clear: that 100 billion girls learn, lead, decide and thrive. In addition, in this task, Plan aims to become the world leader in working with girls, something that I must also achieve at the local level.”
