North Coast jazzes it up with concerts this weekend

Cabarete, Dominican Republic.- The Dominican Republic Jazz Festival Educational Foundation (FEDUJAZZ) will celebrate International jazz day with free concerts in neighborhoods of Cabarete at 10:00 A.M. on April 30 and a fundraising party at 6:00 p.m. at The Beach Club restaurant of the tourist project Sea Horse Ranch for the benefit of the music program initiated by FEDUJAZZ in the community of Cabarete.

The celebration of the International Jazz Day has the endorsement of UNESCO who has declared the International Jazz Day on April 30 and promotes the celebration of simultaneous events around the world.

In the morning, starting at 10:00 AM the students of the Strings program of the Casa de Arte de Sosua, will be offering mini concerts open to all public in the neighborhoods of La Ciénaga, Callejón de la Loma and Barrio Blanco de Cabarete.

Starting at 6:00 P.M., a jazz concert by the talented Rafelito Mirabal and Sistema Temperado begins at the Beach Club of Sea Horse Ranch; A fashion pass with the creations of the famous international designer Geannina Azar with the particularity that the models will be mothers of our communities, accompanied by their sons or daughters under the coordination of the Puerto Plata model Jenny Cabrera.

Moreover a tasting of the famed Chef Rafael Vázquez’s sandwiches, and the auction of one of the works of the extraordinary plastic artist Adolfo Faringthon who, like Geannina Azar, Rafael Vásquez and Jenny Cabrera, brings his incredible talent to this activity for free.

«The money collected from the sale of tickets will be used entirely for the purchase of instruments of the new free music education program begun in January by FEDUJAZZ in Cabarete, which currently benefits 42 poor children in the area.

FEDUJAZZ is a non-profit foundation that celebrates the Dominican Republic Jazz Festival for 17 years and offers free music education through the implementation of ongoing programs with the main objective of producing social change through music in our children. and young people

This event has the sponsorship and endorsement of Sea Horse Ranch, The Beach Club, UNESCO, International Jazz Day and The House of Art of Sosua. The tickets will be available at the foundation’s offices in Cabarete, and the administrative offices of Sea Horse Ranch.
