World’s longest-running TV variety show turns 50

Santo Domingo.- On Monday Dominican Republic’s most watched TV program “El Show of the Mediodia” celebrated its 50th anniversary with a broadcast from the studios of the State channel CERTV, where It began in 1969.

Also known as “La Costumbre” (tradition), ”El Show” is the longest-running, uninterrupted variety show in the world, according to its producer, Ivan Ruiz.
