President Abinader awards Al Horford the National Order of Merit

Santo Domingo.- President Luis Abinader awarded Al Horford the Order of Merit of Duarte, Sánchez, and Mella in the degree of Knight, through decree 513-14, in recognition of his contributions to Dominican basketball and his role in elevating the Dominican presence in the NBA. Horford made history as the first Dominican to win an NBA championship.

In response, Horford expressed his gratitude to the president, his family, and the Dominican people for this honor.
