Dominican Republic to host 2024 U-17 Women’s World Cup
Santo Domingo.- The upcoming U-17 Women’s World Cup has found its hosts, as the International Football Federation (FIFA) declares Santo Domingo and Santiago as the chosen cities for this prestigious event, scheduled from October 16 to November 3.
Santo Domingo’s Estadio Félix Sánchez and Santiago’s Cibao Universitario stadiums are set to be the primary venues, while additional training facilities will be scattered across La Vega, Moca, San Cristóbal’s Panamericano, Santo Domingo Este’s Parque del Este, Alterna Félix Sánchez, Barranquita, and Santiago’s Parque Central.
FIFA’s inspection team, led by notable figures like Jaime Yarza and Marina San Miguel, has visited the Dominican Republic to assess tournament preparations. Alongside them were Rodolfo Villalobos, representing UNCAF, and key Dominican officials, including José Francisco Deschamps and Elizabeth Mena.
Seven teams, including Mexico, the United States, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, New Zealand, and the Dominican Republic, have already secured their spots, with more to follow.
