Iberia records “robust demand” in Santo Domingo: will fly daily in summer

Santo Domingo.- Spanish airline Iberia is strengthening its commitment to Santo Domingo for the upcoming summer season, announcing that as of August it will start operating a daily flight between Madrid and the Dominican capital.

According to Antonio Linares, Iberia’s Sales Director for Spain, Portugal, and North Africa, demand is “robust” and remains “stable” for the coming summer months.

In total, the IAG airline plans to operate 420 flights in Santo Domingo during the summer season, according to European press reports.

In keeping with how well tourism is doing in the Caribbean, Iberia will also increase its operations in Cuba and Puerto Rico.

“We offer four weekly frequencies to Havana, which in August, September and October will increase to five, so that, in total, this summer season we will operate 264 flights between Madrid and the Cuban capital, 15% more than last year,” said Linares.

In the case of San Juan de Puerto Rico, the airline will have six weekly frequencies starting in August.
