Campos do Jordão, Brazil.– The 13th International Congress of Journalists and Tourism Professionals, held at the Quebra Noz Hotel in Campos do Jordão, Brazil on March 9, brought together national and international experts to explore topics such as luxury tourism and sustainable tourism.

From the opening of the event to the presentation of the 2024 Open Passport International Award, attendees immersed themselves in debates and reflections on the future of tourism.

The congress kicked off with a series of presentations, highlighting topics such as “Luxury Gastronomy” presented by Juan de Dios Valentín Rosario from the Dominican Republic, and “Sustainable Tourism” by Silvia Schmidt from Brazil. These presentations highlighted the importance of offering exclusive experiences while addressing the need to preserve the environment and local communities.

One of the highlights was the presentation of the book “Everything About My Trip” from the International Certification in Travel Journalism, which, through chronicles, offers a deep look at the challenges and opportunities in the field of tourism journalism. Authors from Colombia, such as Kevin Casanova, Kevin Cadena, María Fernanda Moreno and Mauricio Andrés Manrique, shared their perspectives on excellence in exclusive experiences and the pursuit of sustainability.

In addition to the presentations, the congress announced the upcoming event in its 14th edition, which will take place during the last week of October in Monterrey, Mexico. The day concluded with a brunch courtesy of Dona Chica.

Finally, the presentation of the 2024 Open Passport International Award in Cali, Colombia, marked a milestone in recognizing efforts towards sustainable tourism and promoting inclusive destinations. This announcement reinforces the tourism sector’s commitment to innovation and sustainable development worldwide.
