There will be more prohibitions announce across the nation in the coming days. The week of Semana Santa is the largest work free holiday period for most of the public to enjoy. One of many diversions is family & friend outings to enjoy beaches and local swimming holes. However, one of the prohibitions frustrating the people is authorities closing access to favorite local water recreation places. This is of what they, the authorities, do because of a perceived higher risk of drownings because of no lifeguards present. This is nonsense. There are no lifeguards during non holiday times when there is access to these places, the risk is still the same. The country mobilizes public safety and civil defense legions along the roads to safeguard the public. It asks the question why it does not assign them to the swimming locations?
