Sadoavi, new Dominican airline is about to start operations

Santo Domingo—Santo Domingo de Aviación (Sadoavi) is in the final stages of certification under the Dominican Aeronautical Regulation (RAD 121), which will allow it to obtain an airworthiness certificate (AOC) and thus join the commercial aviation market in the Dominican Republic.

Once it receives the pertinent certifications, the airline will be able to operate in the airspace, in accordance with all the provisions in force, confirmed the Dominican Civil Aviation Institute (IDAC).

The general director of the entity, Héctor Porcella, informed that this is a low-cost airline of Dominican capital, which will establish its base of operations in the province of Puerto Plata.

The company will start offering services aboard two Boeing 737-300 aircraft, with capacity for 150 passengers. This will allow it to add 300 seats to the more than 3,100 that Dominican airlines have for commercial aviation in the country.

Carlos Alberto Silva is the owner of Sadoavi’s commercial name and logo before the National Industrial Property Office (Onapi), whose last valid registration was made on February 15, 2022, according to Diario Libre.

Its manager is Hugo Antonio Columna Vásquez and the address is 851 NE 1st Avenue, in Miami, Florida.

Once the company obtains its AOC, it will have to continue its formalization process with the Civil Aviation Board (JAC), entity that will be in charge of authorizing the air routes that it will be allowed to cover.

Meanwhile, Sadoavi has already published in printed media its active search for personnel.

The company wants to recruit:

Captains
First officers
Chief pilots
Supervisory aircraft maintenance technician
Line mechanic
Dispatch chief
Dispatchers
Cabin Crew Chief
Avsec Safety Officer
Traffic personnel
