Cruise tourism expands in Cabo Rojo

Pedernales, DR.- President Luis Abinader announced that beginning this October, Cabo Rojo in Pedernales will welcome a cruise ship every eight days, marking a significant boost in the region’s tourism. This regular schedule includes ships from Carnival Cruise Line.

Minister of the Presidency, Joel Santos, projected that within three years, Cabo Rojo could see one million tourists. Additionally, he shared that by 2025, two new hotels with approximately 500 rooms will open in Pedernales, further enhancing the area’s tourism appeal alongside the development of the Cabo Rojo port.

These updates were shared by President Abinader and Minister Santos during a tour in Santiago, which also marked the first test run of the Santiago Monorail.
