Dominican tourism hits visitor record in four years

Santo Domingo.- The Ministry of Tourism has announced record-breaking numbers, with nearly 32 million tourists visiting the Dominican Republic from August 2020 to July 2024. In the first seven months of 2024, the country welcomed 6,968,623 visitors, reflecting strong growth in the tourism sector.

In July 2024 alone, 811,192 tourists arrived by air, while 206,704 cruise passengers visited, both showing significant increases over previous years. From January to July 2024, non-resident arrivals by air rose by 8%, and cruise passenger arrivals grew by 19%.

Minister of Tourism David Collado emphasized that these achievements highlight the sector’s substantial growth, with the Dominican Republic surpassing all previous four-year visitor records.
