Tourism investors praise President Abinader’s reappointment of David Collado

Santo Domingo.- Leading international tourism investors have expressed their strong approval of President Luis Abinader’s decision to reappoint David Collado as Minister of Tourism. Among those congratulating Collado are Gabriel Escarrer, President of Melia Group; Encarna Piñeiro, President of Grupo Piñeiro; Adriana Cisneros, Head of Grupo Cisneros; and members of the Association of Hotels and Tourism of the Dominican Republic (ASONAHORES).

Gabriel Escarrer, in a post on the social network X (formerly Twitter), commended Collado for his “impeccable work and exemplary public-private collaboration.” Other hotel industry leaders echoed these sentiments, anticipating continued success and increased tourism in the Dominican Republic.

Dominican tourism has garnered global recognition for its swift recovery post-COVID, with praise from the World Tourism Organization. Minister Collado has projected that 2024 will see a historic high of 11.5 million visitors.
