Banco Popular to participate in FITUR 2025 in Madrid

Santo Domingo.- Banco Popular Dominicano will participate in the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) 2025, held from January 22 to 26 at IFEMA in Madrid, Spain. As a leader in financing the Dominican tourism sector, the bank plans over 40 meetings with industry leaders and hotel representatives to strengthen alliances, promote investments, and enhance the quality and diversity of tourism offerings in the Dominican Republic.

Led by CEO Christopher Paniagua, Banco Popular’s delegation will emphasize innovation and sustainability in tourism, a commitment upheld for over 30 years. The bank will also present the Taíno Cultural Center Casa del Cordón, located in Santo Domingo’s historic district, internationally recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This initiative aims to boost cultural tourism and position the Dominican Republic as a premium destination for exclusive and high-value experiences.

Aligned with Grupo Popular’s strategy for transformative investments, the bank highlights collaborations such as its partnership with Meliá Hotels International to foster sustainable growth. FITUR, a premier global tourism event, focuses on sustainability and innovation, attracting record attendance of 250,000 visitors in 2024. Banco Popular leverages platforms like UN Tourism and the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) to promote its projects, further cementing its role as a gateway to European and Latin American markets.
