Spanish consulate in the Dominican Republic opens “FITUR window” to streamline visa procedures

Santo Domingo.- FITUR is one of the most important international tourism fairs, attracting sector players from all over the world. In this regard, the Spanish Consulate in the Dominican Republic, located in Santo Domingo, has taken steps to make it easier for Dominicans to attend the event.

To facilitate the process, the consulate has launched the “FITUR Window” with the aim of expediting Schengen visa applications, which are required for Dominicans wishing to enter countries within the Schengen Area, such as Spain.

According to Diario Libre, this initiative addresses previous complaints about delays in visa processing during past editions. However, diplomatic sources have denied any discrimination against Dominican citizens and emphasized that, except for occasional errors, visa processing generally does not face delays.

The “FITUR Window” will help expedite visa management for those planning to attend the fair, where, as in previous years, the Dominican Republic will participate. In addition to government officials, hotel operators, tourism promoters, and major banks promoting investments in various Dominican destinations will also be present.
