Abinader highlights Punta Bergantín as key investment and tourism development project

Santiago de los Caballeros.- President Luis Abinader emphasized that Punta Bergantín represents a “win-win” opportunity for investment and tourism in Puerto Plata. Speaking at an event in Santiago, he presented the project’s apartment and villa offerings to investors, highlighting its benefits through the Founders Program. He noted that this initiative will elevate hotel tourism in Puerto Plata beyond Bergantín’s borders, with key additions such as an innovation center and a film studio, enhancing its appeal. The project will feature renowned hotel brands, including Hyatt, Marriott, and Meliá, and is expected to generate over 20,000 direct jobs.

Tourism Minister David Collado underscored Abinader’s commitment to Punta Bergantín’s development, detailing ongoing investments such as RD$600 million for Sosúa Beach and RD$70 million for improvements in Puerto Plata’s historic center.

Additionally, Abinader inaugurated the Circunvalación Norte Industrial Park, a RD$2,214 million (US$36 million) investment set to create over 1,100 direct jobs, with projections of 2,000 in the near future.
