Tourism Ministry brings crisis strategist to the country

Santo Domingo.- Tourism Minister David Collado shared a late-night meeting photo on Tuesday with Alejandro Romero, global CEO of the Llorente Cuenca (LLYC) agency. On Instagram, Collado emphasized their shared commitment to the Dominican Republic’s brand and progress.
Romero, who leads LLYC, a global communications and public affairs firm, visited the country amid ongoing efforts to locate Sudiksha Konanki, a young Indian tourist who went missing from a Punta Cana hotel on March 6. Dominican authorities, working with international organizations, have mobilized over 300 personnel, including National Police, Army, Navy, and Air Force units, to aid in the search around the Riu Punta Cana hotel and coastal areas.
The worldwide media coverage of the tragic disappearance of Ms Konanki has compelled the Ministry of Tourism to call in spin doctors from Miami to insulate the tourism industry.
