Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico sign agreement to boost multi-destination tourism

San Juan, Puerto Rico.- The Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico have formalized a strategic alliance to promote multi-destination tourism, enhance air connectivity, and drive economic growth in the Caribbean. The Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Tourism, signed by Tourism Minister David Collado and Governor Jenniffer González, underscores their commitment to joint initiatives that support a sustainable and competitive tourism industry. Each country has pledged US$1 million for promotional campaigns to attract global travelers.

The signing event, which included cultural performances and appearances by Tito el Bambino and Clarissa Molina, showcased the shared heritage of both destinations. Originally announced at FITUR 2024 in Spain, the agreement serves as a model for regional collaboration, reinforcing the Caribbean’s position as a world-class travel destination.
